Recently, Morris Fuller Benton’s Alternate Gothic No.1 became a public domain typeface. Partly because it’s so old (pre 1923) and partly because the company that owned it went bankrupt. As a result The League of Moveable Type created League Gothic as a free downloadable revival of the original face.

We decided to hand draw League Gothic for a side project over here at A Good Company. Working on turning it into a font, so we can use it online. We’ll see how the final layout will look.
